Bayern Munich consider Manchester United target Leon Goretzka ‘dispensable’
Leon Goretzka is considered ‘dispensable’ by Bayern Munich in the ongoing transfer window amidst links to Manchester United, according to TZ via Spanish outlet Fichajes.com.
As things stand, the Bavarians have put the Germany international on the market. To that end, for some time now, the Red Devils have been associated with acquiring the midfielder’s services.
Erik ten Hag would not mind the 28-year-old’s addition to the Old Trafford side’s engine room. The Bundesliga giants will be open to parting ways with him if they receive a suitable offer.
We have bolstered the middle of the park with the recent arrival of Mason Mount from Chelsea. The England international is a hard-working player capable of playing as a box-to-box midfielder.
Goretzka seems to be the same profile. Bayern signed the German national in the summer of 2018 from Schalke 04. Since then, he has been a key player for them.
However, the Bavarians struggled a bit in the previous campaign. The midfielder did not have the best of seasons at Allianz Arena side as they narrowly retained the league title.
United already have Casemiro and Christian Eriksen in their ranks as well. Ten Hag trusted the two to play in the double pivot position last season. The Brazilian was especially a fundamental part of our success.
Mount is arguably an upgrade over the Danish national. Thus, rather than getting another dynamic midfielder like Goretzka, it would seem wise to add depth to the number six position.

In the former Real Madrid star’s absence, the Old Trafford side found it difficult to get positive results. The Brazilian is a quality enforcer. Fred and Scott McTominay are not up to the 31-year-olds standards. Therefore, it remains to be seen whether the Manchester-based club will opt to sign the German national.
