Everton want to sign Manchester United keeper Tom Heaton

As per the Mirror, Everton have enquired about the possibility of signing Manchester United keeper Tom Heaton this summer.

Everton boss Sean Dyche knows Heaton from the days when they were at Burnley. The former wants to reunite with the latter at Goodison Park now.

With David de Gea gone for free and Dean Henderson expected to sign Nottingham Forest this summer, it makes sense to keep Heaton unless the club is able to sign two keepers.

As of now, the Red Devils are closing in on signing Inter Milan stopper Andre Onana. Daily Mail reveals that the potential deal has entered its final stage.

If and when the Cameroon international signs for the club, he would take the number one role vacated by de Gea this summer.

But, having an adequate and experienced backup is very important. Hence, it would be great if United hold on to Heaton despite interest from Everton and his former boss Dyche.

Coming back to Onana, he would be a great addition to the team. Ten Hag has worked with him when they were at Ajax.

The Cameroon international is good with the ball at his feet and shot-stopping. He would know what the United boss would want from his goalkeeper.

Regarding Heaton, he is a highly-experienced campaigner who has spent so many years in the Premier League. His input could be valuable to Onana when the latter joins the training for the first time.

The duo can form a good partnership during training to make sure they both are ready to do a job when asked by the manager. Of course, Onana would be the first-choice keeper to start with. All of it is only when he officially signs for the club though.
