Serie A giants Juventus and Napoli have joined Manchester United in the race for LOSC Lille star Jonathan David, according to Calciomercato.com via Spanish outlet Fichajes.net.

The two Italian outfits are looking to bolster their attacking line. To that end, the Canada international is on the Bianconeri and Parenopei’s radars.

However, apart from the Turin and Naples-based clubs, a number of other teams have their eyes on the 23-year-old. In the Premier League, the Red Devils, along with Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur, have been linked with him. The striker has also caught the attention of Real Madrid.

But at the moment, Juventus and Napoli are confident of acquiring the services of David. The Canadian signed for Lille in the summer of 2020 and has since grown from strength to strength.

At the Bianconeri, Dusan Vlahovic has underwhelmed since signing from Fiorentina. The likes of Federico Chiesa have also not been up to the mark as of late. Angel Di Maria has also left the Allianz Stadium side.

On the other hand, Napoli have Victor Osimhen at their disposal. Their attack has an abundance of talent. However, it would not be a surprise to see a Serie A champions’ team picked apart by other European giants.

As for United, we need to add reinforcements up front, with Anthony Martial the only natural number nine in our ranks for now. However, the French national was unreliable last season due to fitness issues.

In the previous campaign, Erik ten Hag had to rely on Marcus Rashford to lead the line on a number of occasions. The 25-year-old was the gaffer’s only consistent outlet up top.

Therefore, we evidently need to add more firepower in the forward line. However, will the Red Devils battle Juventus and Napoli for David? Only time will tell.
