Manchester United takeover process could hamper Randal Kolo Muani move from Eintracht Frankfurt
Eintracht Frankfurt and Manchester United have begun talks for Randal Kolo Muani, but the Red Devils’ takeover process could hamper the move, according to L’Equipe (h/t Manchester Evening News).
The Old Trafford side are interested in acquiring the services of the France international in the ongoing transfer window. To that end, the club are leading the race to get a hold of the forward’s signature.
Last year, the Glazers put United up for sale. However, it has now been seven months and there is still little clarity on what the future holds for the Red Devils in terms of the upper management.
As a result, the uncertainty regarding the Old Trafford side’s ownership could be a stumbling block in the latter stages of contract negotiations with the Bundesliga outfit’s 24-year-old striker.
Eintracht signed Kolo Muani last summer as a free agent. The French national shone in his first year in Germany. He made 46 appearances in all competitions, scoring 23 goals and providing 17 assists.
The 24-year-old was also a key player for Les Bleus as they made it to the final in the 2022 World Cup. Against Argentina, the forward was one of the catalysts as Didier Deschamps’ team made a comeback. But they lost to Lionel Scaloni’s team on penalties.
At United, the number nine position lacked quality and depth last season. Anthony Martial had injury issues for most of the 2022/23 campaign.
Subsequently, we signed Wout Weghorst as cover for the former AS Monaco star in January. The Holland international featured a lot and put in a shift whenever he was called upon. Unfortunately, with all due respect, the 30-year-old is not up to the Red Devils’ standards.

Therefore, we evidently need to bolster the striking department this summer. Kolo Muani is one of the hottest prospects out there. But will the Glazers’ indecision affect us in the ongoing transfer window? Only time will tell.
