Manchester United ready to loan Amad Diallo to Atalanta in Rasmus Hojlund deal
Amad Diallo could be included in a player swap deal by Manchester United for Atalanta star Rasmus Hojlund this summer, according to GiveMeSport (h/t Manchester Evening News).
The Red Devils admire the Denmark international and have him on their radar in the ongoing transfer window. To that end, Erik ten Hag is open to including a temporary move to La Dea for the Ivorian in order to seal a deal for the striker.
In January 2021, the Old Trafford side signed Amad from the Bergamo-based club. However, the 20-year-old is yet to break into the Manchester-based club’s first-team setup.
The youngster endured a difficult loan spell at Rangers previously. Thankfully, last season, the winger thrived at Sunderland. The Ivorian was impressive and found regular game time with the Black Cats.
United are willing to give Amad a chance during pre-season. But will the forward stay at the club in the coming months? Only time will tell.
Hojlund is an exciting prospect as well. The Danish national joined Atalanta in the summer of 2022 from Sturm Graz. In the 2022/23 campaign, the 20-year-old was key to Gian Piero Gasperini’s plans at La Dea.
As things stand, the Old Trafford side evidently need to add reinforcements up top. Anthony Martial was injury-prone last season. On the other hand, we signed Wout Weghorst on a temporary move in January from Burnley.
Out wide, we have enough quality in our ranks. Marcus Rashford, Antony, Alejandro Garnacho and Jadon Sancho are all at Erik ten Hag’s disposal for now.

Therefore, getting a player like Hojlund seems like a priority. If sending Amad to Atalanta increases our chances of getting the Danish national, then that looks like a decent proposal for all the parties involved.
