Sassuolo midfielder Davide Frattesi not keen on Premier League move amidst Manchester United interest
Davide Frattesi, who currently plays for Sassuolo, is not keen on moving to the Premier League just yet amidst interest from Manchester United.
As per Football Insider (h/t Manchester Evening News), the Red Devils are interested in acquiring the 23-year-old’s services. However, it looks like the midfielder does not want to move abroad this summer.
Speaking to the media via transfer guru Fabrizio Romano on Twitter, the Italy international has revealed that a transfer to the English top flight was unlikely for now. He wants to stay and grow in Italy.
Frattesi: “Bid from Premier League? I told Sassuolo that honestly I don’t feel that’s the best step for me now. I’m not ready to go abroad yet”. 🇮🇹 #transfers

Sassuolo signed Frattesi in the summer of 2017 from AS Roma. After a few seasons out on loan, the midfielder established himself in the Neroverdi’s starting lineup.
Over the previous two campaigns, the 23-year-old has showcased his abilities, playing primarily in the number eight position. In the 2022/23 term, the Italian made 36 appearances in Serie A for the Mapei Stadium side, scoring seven goals.
Frattesi is also a full-fledged Italy international. The midfielder started for Gli Azzurri in their 2-1 loss to Spain in the UEFA Nations League semi-finals recently.
At United, we added quality to our midfield ranks with the addition of Casemiro and Christian Eriksen last season. While the two have been pivotal to Erik ten Hag’s plans, in their absence, the gaffer does not have a lot of talent at his disposal.
Fred and Scott McTominay have been at the club for several years now but have been unable to convince people of their abilities. We had to sign Marcel Sabitzer on loan from Bayern Munich in January to add depth to the middle of the park.

Therefore, we could evidently do with some fresh blood in the engine room. Frattesi is a talented midfielder with a lot of potential. However, it is evident that the Italian does not fancy the PL as things stand.
