Manchester United yet to make bid for Inter Milan shot-stopper Andre Onana
Serie A giants Inter Milan have not received a bid yet from Manchester United to acquire the services of Andre Onana, according to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano on Twitter.
As things stand, the Red Devils have not approached the Nerazzurri to sign the Cameroonian in the ongoing transfer window. The shot-stopper caught a lot of people’s attention with his performances for the Italian outfit last season.
Erik ten Hag is well aware of the 27-year-old’s talent. He played under the Dutch manager for many years at Ajax Amsterdam. Last summer, the gaffer made his way to the Old Trafford side’s dugout while the goalkeeper joined the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza side.

At the moment, David de Gea is the number one at United. The Spaniard was trusted in between the sticks by Ten Hag in the previous campaign. However, the former Atletico Madrid star’s current contract with the Manchester-based club is set to expire in the coming weeks (transfermarkt).
Therefore, it remains to be seen what the future will hold for the veteran goalkeeper. The 32-year-old’s decision will decide the Old Trafford side’s budget for a new shot-stopper.
Onana made it to the Champions League final with Inter in the 2022/23 season. The Cameroonian’s distribution and ability with the ball at his feet were on full display against Manchester City’s high press. But in the end, the Sky Blues edged past the Nerazzurri with a 1-0 victory.
De Gea also had his moments at United in the previous campaign. The Spaniard pulled off some impressive saves. However, he also left a lot to be desired on a number of occasions.
The 32-year-old has looked uncomfortable playing under Ten Hag. But the gaffer has not had a lot of options at his disposal. In the last few months, Tom Heaton and Jack Butland were the backups in the goalkeeping department.

Thus, Onana seems like a good option for the Red Devils to pursue this summer. However, will the Dutch manager reunite with his former shot-stopper at the Theatre of Dreams? Only time will tell.
