Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Moises Caicedo prefers Chelsea over Manchester United move
Moises Caicedo, who plays for Brighton & Hove Albion, prefers a move to Premier League rivals Chelsea over Manchester United, according to Sky Germany (h/t Metro).
The Ecuador international is intent on making his way to the Stamford Bridge side in the ongoing transfer window. As things stand, ‘final negotiations’ are underway between the Seagulls and the Blues.
In order to part ways with the midfielder, the Amex Stadium side are looking to get at least £100 million. Thus, it looks like the West London club are set to beat the rest of the competitions.
Apart from the Red Devils, Arsenal have also been linked with the 21-year-old. In the previous transfer window, the Gunners had a bid rejected by the East Sussex-based club for him.
Also, Bayern Munich have Caicedo on their radar. To that end, the Bundesliga giants have also held talks with the midfielder’s camp. However, he is keen on staying in the English top flight.
Chelsea are expected to be without Mateo Kovacic and N’Golo Kante ahead of next season. The two have been pivotal players for the Blues over the years. Therefore, Mauricio Pochettino’s team evidently need to bolster their engine room.
As for United, Casemiro and Christian Eriksen were essential to Erik ten Hag’s plans in the 2022/23 campaign. However, we could seemingly do with an upgrade over the Danish national in the starting lineup.
Also, in the absence of the former Real Madrid star, the Red Devils have struggled to get positive results. Thus, getting Caicedo makes sense due to his quality and versatility.
