Eintracht Frankfurt contacted by Manchester United for Randal Kolo Muani
Manchester United have made contact with Bundesliga outfit Eintracht Frankfurt to acquire the services of Randal Kolo Muani, according to The Athletic (Subscription Required) [h/t Express].
John Murtough, the Red Devils’ football director, has opened discussions with the German side regarding a move for the France international. The forward is valued at around £70 million by Die Adler.
The 24-year-old has also been on the radar of Bayern Munich. However, it is the Old Trafford side who have begun negotiations with the Deutsche Bank Park side for him.
Eintracht signed Kolo Muani on a free transfer in the summer of 2022. Since then, the French national has broken onto the scene and caught a lot of people’s attention.
The 24-year-old was immense under Oliver Glasner in the 2022/23 campaign. In 46 appearances in all competitions, the striker found the back of the net 23 times and provided 17 assists.
Kolo Muani also shone for France in the 2022 World Cup. He made a few appearances in Qatar and came off the bench in the final as Les Bleus made a comeback but eventually lost to Argentina on penalties.
United’s attack is a bit light in the number nine position. Anthony Martial missed most of the season with injury issues. On the other hand, Wout Weghorst will not be pursued after his loan spell from Burnley ends.
That will leave the Red Devils with just one natural striker. Therefore, anyone can see that a new centre-forward should evidently be a priority for the Old Trafford side.
