Tottenham Hotspur interested in Manchester United defender Harry Maguire
Manchester United defender Harry Maguire is attracting ‘interest’ from Premier League rivals Tottenham Hotspur, according to The Telegraph (Subscription Required).
But as things stand, there is no indication regarding whether the North London side will put in a bid for the England international. It is not certain whether Spurs will make a move for the centre-back.
Nonetheless, the 30-year-old is on the Lilywhites’ radar. However, the Old Trafford side is expected to be available for a cut-price fee. Spurs’ interest is certainly a surprise given they are a ‘big six’ rival for Man United.
Would we sell our best players to them? We doubt it. Maguire, however, could seek to rekindle his career in north London given their need for an experienced, solid centre-back.

Maguire signed for United in the summer of 2019 from Leicester City. The English national had established himself as a quality defender at the King Power Stadium side.
Initially, at the Red Devils, the 30-year-old was a key player for us. A few months into his stint at the Old Trafford side, he was handed the captain’s armband.
Unfortunately, since last season, Maguire has been error-prone. As a result, now, the centre-back has lost his place in the Manchester-based club’s starting lineup. However, the defender has still been pivotal for the Three Lions.

The English national started in just eight games in the Premier League in the current campaign. Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez have been the gaffer’s preferred options in the backline at United.
Victor Lindelof and Luke Shaw have also been partnered by the Dutch manager in central defence. The two also seem to be ahead of Maguire in the pecking order. Therefore, it would not be a surprise to see the former Leicester star leave.

Tottenham are open to parting ways with the likes of Eric Dier, Ben Davis and Davinson Sanchez. Thus, it would make sense for the North London side to acquire the services of the 30-year-old. It will be interesting to see whether Spurs will end up signing him.
