Napoli defender Kim Min-jae “inclined” to accept Manchester United proposal
Kim Min-jae, who plays for Serie A giants Napoli, is “inclined” to accept the proposal from Manchester United in the upcoming transfer window.
The Red Devils, along with Premier League rivals Newcastle United, are interested in the South Korea international. With his impressive displays this season, the 26-year-old has caught a number of people’s attention.
Speaking via Manchester Evening News, transfer guru Fabrizio Romano has revealed that the Partenopei are keen on keeping hold of Min-jae. However, the Old Trafford side have made an attractive offer to the centre-back.
“As far as the team is concerned, for Kim, we have to wait until July. Napoli would like to keep him, renew his contract, but the knife is on the player’s side. Manchester United offered him a big salary. Kim is inclined to accept it.”
The South Korean signed for Napoli in the summer of 2022 from Fenerbahce. He was signed after the Naples-based club lost Kalidou Koulibaly to Chelsea.
However, the 26-year-old has not let the Italian outfit feel the absence of the Senegal international. The defender has been ever-present in Luciano Spalletti’s team as they have gone on to lift the Scudetto after over three decades.
Man United’s defence has seen Lisandro Martinez and Raphael Varane as the first-choice centre-backs. The two World Cup winners have formed an impressive partnership at the Old Trafford side.
With the Argentine and French duo in our defence, we have looked stable on most occasions. However, as a result, our other defenders have had to bide their time on the bench.
Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof have lost their place in the starting lineup. The two had been key players for us in previous campaigns but have fallen down the pecking order since Erik ten Hag’s arrival.

Therefore, it would be understandable if our captain and the Swedish national opted to look for pastures new in the coming weeks. In that case, a player like Kim possesses the quality to add strength in depth to our backline. But it remains to be seen whether he will accept the Old Trafford side’s offer.
