Atalanta striker Rasmus Hojlund and Eintracht Frankfurt forward Randal Kolo Muani on Manchester United agenda
Manchester United have had Atalanta striker Rasmus Hojlund and Eintracht Frankfurt forward Randal Kolo Muani on their agenda, according to The Athletic (Subscription Required).
Erik ten Hag wants to bolster the attack at the Old Trafford side in the upcoming transfer window. To that end, Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Kane is seen as the ideal candidate.
However, alternatives are being eyed in case the Old Trafford side are unable to get a deal for the England national over the line. The Danish and French nationals are two of the options on the Manchester-based club’s radar.
As things stand, United have held detailed discussions regarding Hojlund and Kolo Muani. Football director John Murtough has also been in contact with both Atalanta and Eintracht regarding their strikers.
The Serie A and Bundesliga outfits are open to parting ways with the Danish and French nationals, respectively. But at the moment, it is the forward playing in Italy who is the likelier to move to Manchester.
Hojlund is a promising talent. The 20-year-old has been a key player for the Bergamo-based club since making a switch from Sturm Graz last summer.
However, Kolo Muani has been much more impressive in Germany this season. The 24-year-old has found the back of the net 23 times and has provided 17 assists in all competitions under Oliver Glasner.
United’s front line lacks options in the number nine position. Anthony Martial has had fitness issues for most of the season and has been on the sidelines a lot. As for Wout Weghorst, his loan spell from Burnley is set to end soon.
