Manchester United may put a bid in to sign Harry Kane as quickly as possible in the summer

As per the Guardian, Manchester United will try their best to sign Harry Kane by putting a bid in to sign the Tottenham Hotspur striker as quickly as possible in the summer window.

The report reveals that although Spurs chairman Daniel Levy is a tough negotiator and wants to keep the England captain, the prospect of missing out on any European football could urge the striker to leave the North London club.

Erik ten Hag, who earmarked the 29-year-old as his primary target, is obsessed with him. United believe having Kane in the squad would turn them into title contenders next season.

The club is wary of this transfer turning into a saga for the whole of the summer window. Hence, they will put a bid in early and test Levy’s resolve.

Kane has had another fantastic season despite it with a team that has largely underperformed. The England captain has scored 28 goals in 37 league appearances, which is simply remarkable.

The 29-year-old is not just a goal-scoring number nine though. He can drop deep and operate as a playmaker with runs from wide players being found via terrific defence-splitting passes. He is physically strong and can finish with both feet.

We have seen him forging an exquisite partnership with Heung-min Son at Tottenham. If he comes to United, there is a potential for him partnering Marcus Rashford very well. The latter’s pace and finishing capabilities are quite similar to Son in a way too.

More Manchester United New

Irrespective of what happens in the remainder of this season, United must sign a number nine to get close to Manchester City next season. Getting Kane, a proven and experienced striker will just elevate the standard of play in the final third.
