PSG circling Manchester United target and Napoli centre-back Kim Min-jae
Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) are circling Manchester United target and Napoli star Kim Min-jae ahead of next summer, according to The Sun (h/t Manchester Evening News).
The Red Devils are looking to get a deal for the South Korea international over the line as soon as possible with the Parisians also in the race for his signature.
Erik ten Hag wants to bolster the Old Trafford side’s defence in the upcoming transfer window. To that end, the 26-year-old has been linked with a move to the Manchester-based club.
Min-jae signed for the Partenopei last summer from Fenerbahce. The defender has been an essential member of Luciano Spalletti’s team as they secured the Serie A title after over three decades.
The South Korean has caught a lot of people’s attention with his displays in the current campaign. As things stand, the 26-year-old’s current contract with the Italian outfit includes a release clause between £40–£50 million.
PSG’s defence has been short-staffed for most of the season due to Presnel Kimpembe’s lengthy injury. Danilo Pereira has had to deputise as a centre-back in the French national’s absence. Marquinhos and Sergio Ramos are the other established centre-backs in the Ligue 1 outfit’s ranks.
As for United, Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez have been Ten Hag’s preferred partnership in the current campaign. The two World Cup winners have formed a solid partnership at the Old Trafford side.
Apart from the duo, the gaffer can also call upon the likes of Harry Maguire, Victor Lindelof and Luke Shaw to play centrally. However, our captain and the Swedish national have lost their place in the team and it would not be a surprise to see them leave the club in the coming months.

If any of our centre-backs do leave, we will evidently need reinforcements. To that end, the Red Devils are the frontrunners for Min-jae’s signature. But will PSG manage to swoop in and pip us to the South Korean’s signing? Only time will tell.
