Marcus Rashford is back in training ahead of Manchester United’s league game against Chelsea

As per Evening Standard, Marcus Rashford has returned to full training as Manchester United prepare to take on Chelsea in the league at Old Trafford on Thursday night.

After beating Bournemouth and seeing Liverpool drop points against Aston Villa, United know they only need one point from the last two league games to secure Champions League football next season.

Rashford missed the game on Saturday due to illness. Although the Red Devils won that game, the lack of threat up front was evident. The 25-year-old potentially starting against Chelsea would add a different dimension to their attack.

Though the goals have slightly dried up for the England international, he is not short on trying and creating chances for others. He anyway has 29 goals and 11 assists in 53 appearances in all competitions, which is impressive, to say the least.

With an all-important FA Cup Final against Manchester City coming up next Saturday, Erik ten Hag must be looking to get a positive result on Thursday to secure Champions League football before the league finale against Fulham on Sunday.

If United manage to do that, the manager can rotate some of the players for the Fulham clash. Since some of the key players have had a long season, getting some rest for the Sunday game might be beneficial ahead of the cup final.

Talking about the game, while Chelsea have been well below par this season, they have the players to turn it on any given day. Hence, ten Hag’s men have to be vigilant of that fact and play their best football to beat Frank Lampard’s team.
