Manchester United ‘considering’ singing two new strikers next summer
Manchester United are ‘considering’ bolstering their forward line with the addition of two new strikers in the upcoming transfer window, according to 90min (h/t Manchester Evening News).
The Red Devils are eyeing a title charge next season. To that end, the club are prepared to dip into the market to bring two fresh faces in for the number nine position.
Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Kane is a target for the Old Trafford side’s manager Erik ten Hag. The England international is a proven Premier League goalscorer. As things stand, the 29-year-old’s current contract with Spurs is set to expire at the end of the 2023/24 campaign (transfermarkt).
At the moment, the Dutch manager has two options to choose from up front in Anthony Martial and Wout Weghorst. Unfortunately, they both have been underwhelming this season.
The former AS Monaco star has been injury-prone since the former Ajax head coach’s arrival in United’s dugout. When the French national has featured, he has put in inconsistent performances.
On the other hand, the Holland international is only on loan at the Manchester-based club until the end of the campaign. He joined the Red Devils in January from Burnley.
Ten Hag has counted on the 30-year-old a lot over the last few months. Unfortunately, the former Wolfsburg striker is seemingly not up to the Old Trafford side’s standards.
Marcus Rashford has had to shoulder the burden of United’s attack this season. We tend to struggle to find the back of the net when the 25-year-old is unable to get on the scoresheet.

Martial and Weghorst could both depart the club in the coming months. In that case, it would be wise for the Red Devils on two strikers to have enough depth up top going into the next term.
