Manchester United links to Napoli centre-back Kim Min-jae rubbished
The agent of Napoli defender Kim Min-jae has rubbished the centre-back being linked with a move to Manchester United ahead of next summer.
In the upcoming transfer window, the Red Devils are being tipped to acquire the South Korea international’s services from the Partenopei. However, as things stand, the Old Trafford side are advancing in a deal for the 26-year-old.
However, speaking to Star News Korea (h/t Manchester Evening News), Min -jae’s representative has poured water on any talks regarding the Old Trafford side being close to getting a hold of the centre-back’s signature.
“The transfer to Manchester United is not true. Currently, Kim Min-jae is focusing on finishing the season.”
The South Korean has caught the eye of a number of top teams with his displays at Napoli this season. In the defender’s debut campaign with the Serie A giants, he has secured the Scudetto.
Luciano Spalletti’s team have been considerably better than the chasing pack in the Italian top flight. The 26-year-old has been a key player in the Partenopei’s success.
Min-jae joined the Naples-based club in the summer of 2022 from Turkish outfit Fenerbahce after Kalidou Kolibaly’s departure. The South Koren has done a tremendous job replacing the Senegalese defender.
United have been associated with wanting to bolster their backline in the upcoming transfer window. If either Harry Maguire or Victor Lindelof leave, the Red Devils will look to add reinforcements.
It would not be a surprise to see our skipper and the Swedish national part ways with the club in the coming months. They have lost their place in the starting lineup at the Old Trafford side, with Erik ten hag preferring the partnership of Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez.
