Manchester United interest in PSG superstar and Arsenal target Neymar ‘most serious’
Manchester United and Arsenal are interested in Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) superstar Neymar, but the Red Devils are the ‘most serious’ about an approach for him, according to The Sun (h/t Manchester Evening News).
At the moment, Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad al-Thani is in the running to become the next owner of the Old Trafford side. If he does end up acquiring the club, then the Qatari will make the Brazilian his first statement signing.
The 31-year-old looks to be at the end of his stint at the Parc des Princes side ahead of the upcoming transfer window. Apart from United and the Gunners, Newcastle United and Chelsea also have the forward on their radar.
Neymar joined PSG in the summer of 2017 from Barcelona. Since then, the Brazilian has lit up Ligue 1 with some mesmerising displays.
However, injuries have hampered the attacker’s game time and influence at the Parc des Princes side. Fitness issues have led to the 31-year-old missing some of the Parisian’s most important fixtures over the years.
Arsenal signed Gabriel Jesus last summer. Mikel Arteta has also called upon Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka for the majority of the campaign. The Gunners have taken massive strides this season, giving Manchester City a challenge for the title.
As for United, they will look to enforce their attack next summer. But the Red Devils are eyeing a number nine. Anthony Martial and Wout Weghorst are the only two natural strikers at Erik ten Hag’s disposal for now.
On the left wing, Marcus Rashford has been ever-present and has been one of our best players in the current campaign. On the right-hand side of the attack, Antony has been trusted by the gaffer.

Neymar is a quality player, without a doubt. However, at 31, he is not getting any younger. However, will Sheikh Jassim be successful in his pursuit to bring the Brazilian to the Theatre of Dreams? Only time will tell.
