Manchester United and Newcastle United linked with Bayern Munich forward Sadio Mane
Manchester United have ’emerged’ as one of the potential destinations for Bayern Munich star Sadio Mane along with Newcastle United, according to Sky Sport Germany (h/t Manchester Evening News).
The Senegal international has ‘no future’ at the Allianz Arena side ahead of the upcoming transfer window. Earlier in the season, the forward was suspended after a bust-up with fellow teammate Leroy Sane after a match.
Mane signed for the Bavarians in the summer of 2022 after leaving Liverpool. However, the 31-year-old has failed to find his feet at the Bundesliga giants.
In the current campaign, Bayern have been underwhelming. The Senegalese has also failed to live up to expectations, scoring 12 goals and providing six assists in 37 appearances in all competitions.
Newcastle have made a resurgence as a top team in England this season. Eddie Howe has done a fantastic job turning the place around.
As things stand, the Magpies are fighting to secure their place in the top four. The Tyneside outfit have made some marquee signings over the last few months with the likes of Sven Botman, Bruno Guimaraes and Alexander Isak.
As for Man United, we have seemingly lacked a focal point this season. In the striking department, Anthony Martial and Wout Weghorst have been the only options at Erik ten Hag’s disposal since January.
Unfortunately, the gaffer has not been able to rely on the French national a lot in the current campaign due to his fitness issues. On the other hand, the Burnley loanee has struggled to find the back of the net.

Mane has immense Premier League experience. The Senegalese also used to play as a number nine for Liverpool on some occasions. However, will the 31-year-old join the Merseyside outfit’s bitter rivals, Man United, next summer? Only time will tell.
