Inter Milan eyeing Manchester United midfielder Donny van de Beek next summer
Serie A giants Inter Milan are eyeing a move for Manchester United star Donny van de Beek ahead of the upcoming transfer window, according to CalcioMercatoWeb.
The Italian outfit have already started to plan for next summer. To that end, bolstering the middle of the park will be one of the Nerazzurri’s priorities in the coming months.
Simone Inzaghi’s team are interested in the Holland international. The Serie A giants have an opening in regards to the midfielder, with the 25-year-old struggling to make a mark in Manchester over the years.
As a result, the Old Trafford side could part ways with Van de Beek for around €20 million. Will Inter be willing to spend that amount to acquire the Holland international’s services? Only time will tell.
Inzaghi currently has the likes of Marcelo Brozovic and Nicolo Barella in their squad. However, their future in Italy is uncertain, with the Serie A giants open to cashing in on them.
For now, the Nerazzurri are fighting on all fronts. They are in the semi-finals of the Champions League, are fighting for a top-four spot, and have the Coppa Italia final to look forward to.
Van de Beek signed for United in the summer of 2020 from Ajax. Unfortunately, things have not gone as expected for him at the Old Trafford side. The Holland national has been unable to showcase the full extent of his talent in Manchester.
With the arrival of Erik ten Hag, who the midfielder worked under in the Eredivisie, there was seemingly hope for him. Unfortunately, the 25-year-old’s season came to an abrupt end in January.
