Premier League rivals Aston Villa are eyeing a move for Manchester United target and Juventus star Dusan Vlahovic, according to Football Insider via Spanish outlet Fichajes.com.

The Villans have entered the race to acquire the Serbian international’s services. At the moment, the Lions are coming up with a proposal to present to the striker.

However, Unai Emery’s team will evidently have to pull off a coup to land the 23-year-old. The Red Devils, along with Newcastle United, Chelsea, Real Madrid, and Bayern Munich, are monitoring him.

Vlahovic joined the Old Lady from Fiorentina in January 2022. The Serbian’s current contract runs until June 2026. However, the Serie A giants are open to parting ways with him for a price tag between €60–€70 million.

The 23-year-old has had a mixed time since making his way to Turin. In the current campaign, the forward has struggled to consistently find the back of the net, although injuries have not helped his cause.

Villa have turned things around since appointing Emery mid-way through the season. Ollie Watkins has been in inspirational form in recent weeks. However, they have had to rely on Jhon Duran as their backup striker since the departure of Danny Ings in the previous transfer window.

As for Man United, Anthony Martial and Wout Weghorst are our only two natural number nines at the moment. Unfortunately, the France international has not been reliable enough under Erik ten Hag due to fitness issues.

Subsequently, we got the Burnley loanee in January to provide cover upfront. However, the 30-year-old seemingly lacks the quality to play week in, week out for us.

Thus, a prolific goalscorer is evidently of great importance to the Old Trafford side. However, will Vlahovic be the one to bolster the Red Devils’ ranks next summer? Only time will tell.
