AS Roma forward Paulo Dybala ‘proposed’ to Manchester United and Arsenal
Paulo Dybala, who plays for Serie A giants AS Roma, has been ‘proposed’ to Manchester United and Premier League rivals Arsenal, according to 90min (h/t ForzaRoma).
The Argentina international’s camp have offered his services to multiple clubs in the English top flight. Apart from the Red Devils and the Gunners, the 29-year-old’s name has also been put forward to the likes of Newcastle United, Tottenham Hotspur, Aston Villa and Chelsea.
Dybala has an interesting release clause in his contract. Clubs in Italy will be able to sign the attacker for €20 million next summer. That release clause falls down to €12 million for foreign outfits. But the Argentine has the final say.
The 29-year-old joined Roma as a free agent in the summer of 2022. After several fruitful years at Juventus, the forward departed the Old Lady on a free transfer.
Dybala has struggled with injuries over the last few years. However, under Jose Mourinho, the attacker seems to have found his feet once again.
The Giallorossi have relied on the Argentine in the current campaign. He also lifted the World Cup title in Qatar after Lionel Scaloni’s team went all the way in the competition and beat France in the final on penalties.
Arsenal have done better than expected this term. They have Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah in their ranks. The Brazilian’s unavailability for a few months did not really affect Mikel Arteta’s team. However, the Gunners did slip up in the title race and have handed Manchester City the advantage.
Man United have had to count on Marcus Rashford for most of the campaign. Erik ten Hag’s appointment has revitalised the England international, who has shouldered the burden of the Red Devils’ attack.
Apart from the 25-year-old, none of our other forwards has contributed to a considerable amount of goals or assists. Up front, Anthony Martial and Wout Weghorst are the only two natural number nines in the Old Trafford side’s squad.
