Real Madrid looking for striker amidst links to Manchester United target Harry Kane
Carlo Ancelotti has admitted that Real Madrid are in search of a new number nine, amidst the Spanish giants being linked with Manchester United target Harry Kane.
The Red Devils require a striker in the upcoming transfer window. To that end, the Tottenham Hotspur talisman, as well as Napoli’s Victor Osimhen, are on the Old Trafford side’s radar.
But Los Blancos are also eyeing the English skipper, along with Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich. Speaking to the media via Mirror, Ancelotti has revealed that the La Liga outfit are looking to buy a player up top for the future.

“The project for the future for the club is to sign a 9, because Karim is the age he is. But Karim is doing very well up until now and while he is in good condition, it’s working very well.”
Karim Benzema has taken the mantle at Madrid since Cristiano Ronaldo’s departure in the summer of 2018. The French national has stepped up his game in the last few years and has become one of the best in the world.
In 2022, the 35-year-old won the Ballon d’Or after an inspiring Champions League campaign with the Spanish giants. The former Olympique Lyon star has continued to be the main man for Los Blancos this season.
However, Benzema is not getting any younger. The La Liga outfit seemingly do not have a quality backup in their squad for the number nine position. Mariano Diaz has failed to prove himself under Ancelotti.

As for United, Anthony Martial and Wout Weghorst are the only two natural strikers at Erik ten Hag’s disposal. The former AS Monaco star has been unreliable due to his fitness issues this season.
On the other hand, the Burnley loanee has been underwhelming since signing for the Red Devils in January. Therefore, we could do with a quality player up top.
