Manchester United are ‘pushing’ to sign Eintracht Frankfurt forward and Bayern Munich target Randal Kolo Muani, according to Sky Sport reporter Florian Plettenberg on Twitter.

As things stand, the Red Devils are ahead of the Bavarians in the race to acquire the France international’s services. It remains to be seen what the Bundesliga giants will do after conversations between Tuchel and the hierarchy.

For now, the 24-year-old has not made up his mind regarding the future. At the moment, the player’s camp is looking at options for the striker.

Kolo Muani made his way to Frankfurt in the summer of 2022 as a free agent. The French national has exceeded expectations at the Deutsche Bank Park side in the current campaign.

Oliver Glasner’s team are mid-table in the league currently. However, despite the German outfit’s struggles in recent weeks, the 24-year-old has been in fine form for most of the season.

Kolo Muani has established himself in Didier Deschamps’ plans with his displays for Frankfurt. The striker has made 40 appearances in all competitions for the Bundesliga outfit, scoring 20 goals and providing 14 assists.

United’s attack has relied on Marcus Rashford since Erik ten Hag’s arrival in the Old Trafford side’s dugout. The 25-year-old is our leading goalscorer in the current campaign.

The Dutch manager has been unable to rely on Anthony Martial this season due to his injury issues. On the other hand, Wout Weghorst, who joined the Red Devils on loan in January, has been underwhelming up top as well.

We could evidently do with a quality number nine in our ranks next summer. However, with Bayern seemingly in need of a new striker after Robert Lewandowski’s departure last summer, will they give United a challenge in the pursuit of Kolo Muani? Only time will tell.
