Barcelona promised €70 million for Ansu Fati amidst Manchester United links
Spanish giants Barcelona have been promised a fee of €70 million to part ways with Ansu Fati amidst links to Manchester United, according to Sport (h/t Metro).
Jorge Mendes, the 20-year-old’s agent, believes he can get a Premier League outfit to pay the aforementioned amount in the upcoming transfer window for the youngster.
It is likely that the Spain international will leave the Camp Nou side next summer after falling out of favour under Xavi. Apart from the Red Devils, North London rivals Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur are also interested in him.
Fati made his way through the youth ranks at Barcelona. In the 2019/20 season, the 20-year-old broke onto the scene at the La Liga outfit. But injuries have hampered the youngster’s development since then.
In the previous two seasons, the Spaniard has suffered setbacks in terms of his fitness and has not played a lot of football. While the forward has been a regular in the current campaign, most of his minutes have come off the bench.
Fati has been unable to have a significant impact whenever Xavi has called upon him. The 20-year-old has found the back of the net seven times in 45 appearances in all competitions this term.
United have counted on Marcus Rashford on the left wing. The 25-year-old has been in electric form since Erik ten Hag’s arrival. The gaffer has also deployed the England international as a number nine.
Alejandro Garnacho has also made his way into the Dutch manager’s plans at the Old Trafford side. The Argentine has deputised admirably when he has been called upon to play on the left-hand side of the attack.

Fati is an exceptional talent. However, in the last few months, the Spaniard has not been able to showcase his potential. Therefore, it does not seem wise to spend a considerable sum on the 20-year-old as things stand.
