OGC Nice and former Barcelona defender Jean-Clair Todibo on Manchester United radar
Former Barcelona defender Jean-Clair Todibo, who plays for OGC Nice, is being monitored by Manchester United, according to L’Equipe (h/t Manchester Evening News).
The Red Devils are ‘tracking’ the centre-back and have him on their radar ahead of the upcoming transfer window. To that end, the Old Trafford side have shortlisted the defender to bolster their backline.
However, the Ligue 1 outfit are expected to ask for a high price. As things stand, 25 per cent of any fee for the French national would go to the Blaugrana, which Les Aiglons have in the back of their minds.
Todibo established himself at Toulouse before signing for Barcelona at a young age in January 2019. After being unable to break into the Camp Nou side’s first team, the 23-year-old was sent out on a couple of loans.
Then, in 2021, Nice signed the French national. Over the last few seasons, the centre-back has been a key player for the Allianz Riviera side. He has grown from strength to strength with Les Aiglons.
United’s defence is stacked at the moment. Lisandro Martinez and Raphael Varane have been the Red Devils’ preferred partnerships in the backline in the current campaign.
But apart from the former Ajax and Real Madrid stars, we also have Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof in our ranks. However, the two have lost their place in the team under Erik ten Hag.
Our skipper will be transfer-listed next summer, while the Sweden international is also expected to assess his future at the club. As a result, the Old Trafford side will search for replacements if there are any exits.

Todibo has developed into a decent centre-back at Nice and has shown a lot of potential to become even better. However, it remains to be seen whether the former Barcelona star will make his way to Manchester in the coming months.
