Manchester United sent scouts to watch Red Bull Salzburg striker Benjamin Sesko
Manchester United had ‘sent scouts’ to watch Benjamin Sesko play for Red Bull Salzburg against SK Sturm Graz over the weekend, according to 90min (h/t Manchester Evening News).
Matthias Jaissle’s team took on the club based in Styria at the Liebenauer Stadium. The Slovenia international found the back of the net as the Austrian Bundesliga champions won 2-0.
The 19-year-old is one of the most promising talents in football and is attracting interest from a number of clubs around Europe. However, for now, the striker is set to join RB Leipzig at the end of the season.

In 2022, the German outfit had agreed a deal with Salzburg to sign Sesko in the summer of 2023. But other clubs are still eyeing a deal for the youngster. The Red Devils are one of the teams that have been linked with the striker in the past.
The Slovenian made his way through the youth ranks at the Austrian side and broke into the first team in the previous campaign. This term, the 19-year-old has grown from strength to strength.
In the 2022/23 season, Sesko has improved his goalscoring prowess. In 36 appearances in all competitions for Salzburg, the forward has found the back of the net 16 times and has provided three assists.

United’s attack has been heralded by Marcus Rashford in the current campaign. However, apart from the England international, none of our forwards has been able to contribute considerably in the final third.
In the number nine position, Anthony Martial has been injury prone, while Wout Weghorst is on loan at the Old Trafford side until the end of the season from Burnley.

Therefore, our front line could evidently use a few reinforcements. Sesko is still raw and has a lot more to do. However, the 19-year-old has proven that he has the ability to at least be on the bench at the Manchester-based club.
