Former Manchester United forward Louis Saha has urged Manchester United to go all out for Harry Kane
Former Manchester United forward Louis Saha, while speaking to DAZN Bet (h/t Manchester Evening News) has urged the club to sign Tottenham Hotspur talisman Harry Kane calling it the perfect match.
Kane is out of contract with Spurs in June 2024 hence the upcoming summer transfer window presents a wonderful opportunity for interested parties to make a swoop for the player.
With the uncertainty surrounding many issues at Spurs currently, it does seem like the wait for trophies in North London is going to continue for some time.
Kane turns 30 next year and definitely is on the wrong side of his prime therefore does not have the luxury to waste time in search of trophies.
United, on the other hand, under Erik ten Hag look a completely different side as compared to last season and with a few more quality signings, could be right there challenging for the top titles.
It does present the most realistic option for Kane and at the same time for United, who would enter the market for a top striker. Saha reiterates the same and believes United must go all out to bring Kane to Old Trafford.
“I think Kane and Man Utd is a perfect match. I don’t see how, with the way they play, without Martial fit, they can challenge for the league. But football is not mathematics, you have to start a new fresh league with new opponents. The projection we all see is Harry Kane providing guarantees, goals and assists. He has that charisma, I see it.
The impact Van Persie had was obvious. The manager, Sir Alex Ferguson, said give the ball to Robin, ‘give the guy the ball and we will win the league’. I think it would be the same, give the ball to Harry and there is something special at the end of the season.
Van Persie was an established Premier League forward at Arsenal who instantly lifted the team when he made the move to United and it is a possibility that Kane could bring a similar impact to the team.
There is a core of current players at the club that are at the top level but the forward options in Anthony Martial and Wout Weghorst are just not up to the mark required to play for the club.
Someone with an experience of 313 Premier League appearances adding to an impressive 206 goals could very well be the catalyst that leads us back to the top.
It remains to be seen whether the club would go into negotiations with Daniel Levy for Kane taking into account how tough it would be to prise him away.
