Barcelona have ‘strong interest’ in Manchester United target and Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Alexis Max Allister
Spanish giants Barcelona have ‘strong interest’ in Manchester United target and Brighton & Hove Albion star Alexis Mac Allister, according to Don Balon via Calciomercato.
The Blaugrana have the Argentina international on their radar. Despite a number of clubs eyeing the midfielder, the Camp Nou side are not worried about the competition.
Apart from the Red Devils, Premier League rivals Manchester City and Chelsea have also been linked with him. In La Liga, Atletico Madrid are also looking to acquire the 24-year-old’s services.
Mac Allister has enjoyed a slow rise to fame at the East Sussex-based club. He signed for the Amex Stadium side in the winter window of 2019 and has since slowly developed, first on loan and then in England.
In the current campaign, the Argentine has become a household name. The 24-year-old’s performances in the 2022 World Cup established the midfielder as one of the best in Europe.
Barcelona have a number of options in the middle of the park at the moment. The Blaugrana can call upon the likes of Sergio Busquets, Frenkie de Jong, Pedri, Gavi and Frank Kessie.
Xavi has also used Sergi Roberto in the engine room on a few occasions. The Camp Nou side are on course to lift the La Liga title in the current campaign, having a considerable margin over second-place Real Madrid.
On the other hand, United’s midfield seemingly lacks depth. While Casemiro and Christian Eriksen have been impressive, the rest of the bunch have left a lot to be desired when called upon.

Therefore, quality in depth will evidently be key for the Red Devils next season. Mac Allister has proven himself in the Premier League and looks set to take the next step in his career. Hopefully, the 24-year-old sign for the Old Trafford side over Barcelona in the coming months.
