Flamengo make contact with Manchester United for Alex Telles loan move
Alex Telles, who is currently on loan at Sevilla from Manchester United, has been approached by Flamengo over a temporary move, according to Torcedores via Sport Witness (h/t Manchester Evening News).
The Brazilian outfit have made ‘contact’ with the Red Devils over taking the defender on loan with an option to buy. Recently, the Mengao appointed Jorge Sampaoli in their dugout.
The Argentine head coach parted ways with Sevilla earlier in the season. Now, the 63-year-old has demanded signings from the Brasileirao club and has identified the Old Trafford side’s loanee as his ‘main’ target.
Telles signed for United in the summer of 2020 from FC Porto. The 30-year-old had established himself as one of the best players in the Primeira Liga before the Red Devils got a hold of his signature.
However, the Brazilian was mostly a bit-part player at the Old Trafford side in the previous two campaigns. Last season, the left-back played a considerable role in the team due to some injury issues in the squad.
At Sevilla, Telles has been a key player. However, the Andalusian club are not in the best of forms at the moment. The Brazilian has made 29 appearances in all competitions for them, providing three assists.
In the summer of 2022, United signed Tyrell Malacia from Feyenoord to bolster the left-hand side of the defence. Erik ten Hag has counted on the Holland international as a backup, with Luke Shaw as the gaffer’s first choice in Manchester.
The England international has been in inspiring form in the current campaign. Apart from playing as a left-back, the 27-year-old has also done well at centre-back.

Shaw and Malacia are two great options at the Dutch manager’s disposal. Therefore, Telles is seemingly surplus to requirements at the Old Trafford side. Therefore, it would be wise to part ways with the Brazilian once again next summer.
