Alexis Mac Allister ‘guaranteed’ to leave Brighton & Hove Albion amidst Manchester United interest
Manchester United target Alexis Mac Allister is ‘guaranteed’ to leave Brighton & Hove Albion in the upcoming transfer window, according to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano on Twitter.
The Argentina international’s camp feel that it is a given that he will part ways with the Seagulls next summer. Until the end of the season, the midfielder will give his best for the East Sussex club but expects to sign for a new club immediately after that.
Apart from the Red Devils, Premier League rivals Liverpool are also eyeing the 24-year-old. Both teams will have a discussion with him soon.
Mac Allister signed for Brighton in the winter window of 2019. Subsequently, the Argentine developed into a key player under Graham Potter.
Now, Roberto De Zerbi has managed to get the best out of the midfielder. He has made 30 appearances in all competitions for the Seagulls this season, scoring 10 goals and providing two assists.
The 24-year-old also enjoyed a stellar 2022 World Cup campaign as Lionel Scaloni’s team lifted the prestigious golden trophy. In Qatar, he was a pivotal player for La Albiceleste.
United signed Christian Eriksen last summer on a free transfer. The Denmark international instantly made an impact at the Old Trafford side and has become ever-present in Erik ten Hag’s plans.
However, in the 31-year-old’s absence, the likes of Fred and Scott McTominay have left a lot to be desired. We did sign Marcel Sabitzer on loan from Bayern Munich in January. But the Austrian has played his best football in the number 10 position.
