PSG and Manchester United ‘interested’ in Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Manu Kone
Manchester United and Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) are ‘interested’ in Borussia Monchengladbach star Manu Kone, according to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano on Twitter.
In the upcoming transfer window, the 21-year-old could be one of the big names in the market. Die Fohlen will look to get a minimum of €50 million plus add-ons to part ways with the France U21 international.
The race to acquire the youngster’s services is still open. However, apart from the Red Devils and the Parisians, Premier League rivals Chelsea are also looking to get him.
PSG have an abundance of talent in the middle of the park at the moment. Christophe Galtier can call upon the likes of Marco Verratti and Danilo Pereira in the engine room.
In the summer of 2022, the Parc de Princes side bolstered their midfield with the addition of Fabian Ruiz, Carlos Soler, Renato Sanches and Vitinha. Youngster Warren Zaire-Emery has also emerged as an option for them.
As for United, we signed Casemiro and Christian Eriksen last summer. The two have been impressive under Erik ten Hag and have become critical members of the starting lineup.
In the absence of the Denmark international, the likes of Fred and Scott McTominay have deputised. Marcel Sabitzer has also been decent under the Dutch manager since making his way to Manchester on loan from Bayern Munich in January.
Kone signed for Gladbach in the summer of 2021 and has been a key player for them ever since. However, now, the French national has the opportunity to take the next step in his career, with some of the biggest teams in Europe eyeing the midfielder.
