Bayern Munich chance to get Manchester United target Harry Kane “bigger” with Thomas Tuchel appointment
Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich now have a “bigger” chance to get Manchester United target Harry Kane with the appointment of Thomas Tuhcel as head coach.
The German was appointed in the Bavarians’ dugout recently after the dismissal of Julian Nagelsmann. As a result, the Red Devils could now face strong competition from the German outfit in their pursuit of the England international.
In his column on Caught Offside (h/t Express), journalist Christian Falk believes Tuchel will be given a big signing and that could be the Tottenham Hotspur star.
“Tuchel will have one shot – that could be an expensive one! This could now be Harry Kane.
“He wants a lot of players, so they have to get money in. Ultimately, the chance to get Kane in is bigger now that Tuchel has joined the club and I think there will be something in the summer now.”
Kane, who became England’s record goal-scorer with his penalty against Italy, is one of the top targets for United as they eye reinforcements for the forward line in the upcoming transfer window. However, Bayern are also in the race for the striker.
The England international’s current contract with Spurs is set to expire in the summer of 2024. However, it remains to be seen whether the 29-year-old will extend his stay in North London.
Tuchel knows all about the England international, having gone up against the Tottenham star during his time in Chelsea’s dugout. Now, the German has taken over a Bayern side that could evidently do with more quality up front.
In the current campaign, the Bavarians have relied upon Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting to find the back of the net. No disrespect to the Cameroon international, but the Bundesliga giants have had the likes of Robert Lewandowski leading their line in recent times.
United also evidently lack a quality striker in the team. Marcus Rashford has had to be relied upon this season to find the back of the net on a consistent basis.

Kane has showcased his prolificity over the years in the Premier League. Therefore, he would seem like the wisest option for the Red Devils to place their bets on. But will Bayern rain on the Old Trafford side’s parade? Only time will tell.
