Manchester United are considering a move for Danish striker Rasmus Hojlund
According to Danish publication Ekstra Bladet (h/t Metro), Manchester United are seriously considering a move for Denmark and Atalanta striker Rasmus Hojlund in the summer window.
Hojlund has impressed us all with his performances and development this season. He arrived at Atalanta last summer and scored eight goals and assisted two in 25 appearances.
The 20-year-old made his Denmark debut last September and has scored five goals in four appearances, including a hat-trick against Finland and a brace against Kazakhstan in the Euro Qualifiers during the current international break.
United are in the market for a striker this summer. Erik ten Hag earmarked Tottenham Hotspur star Harry Kane as his primary target, while Napoli’s Victor Osimhen is linked as well.
The report says that despite those two players being linked, the club would look to add Hojlund to their squad, probably to add depth to their forward line.
With Cristiano Ronaldo leaving in November and Anthony Martial struggling for fitness, United have been short on striking options for the majority of this campaign. They are thankful to Marcus Rashford for picking up his scoring form at the time, otherwise, things would have been tough.
So ten Hag might look to sign two strikers in the summer. Hojlund being one could be an excellent option. The young Danish star possesses great pace, shooting ability and physical strength to shrug off defenders.
Atalanta are bracing for offers in the region of £22m-£30m and would look to cash in the player. At that price, the 20-year-old would possess excellent business on and off the field for United.

Let’s hope that we beat the competition, if there is any, to sign the Dane in the summer. He would settle in well under the management of ten Hag and the guidance of his senior national teammate Christian Eriksen.
