Torino centre-back Perr Schuurs attracting ‘strong interest’ from Manchester United
Perr Schuurs, who plays for Serie A outfit Torino, is attracting ‘strong interest’ from Manchester United in the Premier League, according to Tuttosport via Tuttomercatoweb.
The Red Devils are eyeing the Dutch national. Apart from the Old Trafford side, English top-flight sides Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool also have the centre-back on their radar. Jurgen Klopp wanted the defender prior to his move to Italy.
Within Serie A, a number of clubs have asked about the 23-year-old as well. Napoli, Inter Milan and AS Roma are also looking to acquire his services.
Schuurs made his way through the youth ranks at Ajax. At the Amsterdam-based club, the defender thrived and developed under United manager Erik ten Hag.
In the summer of 2022, Torino came knocking for the Dutch national’s signature. In Italy, the 23-year-old has become a key player for Ivan Juric’s team.
The Granata are enjoying a decent season in Serie A. Schuurs has made 24 appearances in all competitions for the Bulls, scoring one goal and providing two assists.
For now, United have an abundance of talent in the backline. Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez have been ever-present in the Red Devils’ starting lineup this season, forming a formidable partnership.
Apart from the two World Cup winners, Erik ten Hag can also call upon Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof from the bench. But the two have seen their influence in the team diminish since the arrival of the former Ajax head coach.

Therefore, in case our captain or the Swedish national decides to leave the Old Trafford side in the coming months, Schuurs seems like a decent option to have on our radar. The 23-year-old has already played under Ten Hag and the Dutch gaffer must be familiar with his qualities.
