Chelsea ‘interested’ in Manchester United shot-stopper Dean Henderson
Premier League rivals Chelsea are ‘interested’ in Manchester United shot-stopper Dean Henderson, who is out on loan at Nottingham Forest, according to Football Insider (h/t Manchester Evening News).
The Blues are weighing up the prospect of a move for the 26-year-old. At the moment, it remains to be seen what the Red Devils will decide on the goalkeeper’s long-term future.
Henderson joined the Tricky Trees in the summer of 2022 on a temporary move after failing to make a place for himself in the Manchester-based club’s starting lineup.

At the West Bridgford-based club, the England international has enjoyed regular game time. However, in recent weeks, the shot-stopper has been on the sidelines with an injury.
At the moment, Chelsea have Kepa Arrizabalaga and Edouard Mendy in their ranks. However, the two have been underwhelming over the last few months.
The Senegal international has lost his place in the Blues’ starting lineup. However, the Spain international leaves a lot to be desired as well in between the sticks, with Graham Potter sticking with the former Athletic Bilbao goalkeeper.

Henderson made his way through the youth ranks at Man United. After a couple of campaigns on loan at Sheffield United, where the shot-stopper caught a lot of people’s attention, he returned to Manchester.
In the 2020/21 season, the England international shared minutes with David de Gea. But the Spaniard has been the number one since the previous campaign. The 32-year-old is performing at a top level week in, week out.

Even if the 26-year-old does not have a future at the Old Trafford side, it would be remiss of us to strengthen a direct rival in Chelsea. Therefore, it would be wise to keep hold of him rather than sell the shot-stopper to the Stamford Bride side.
