Tyrell Malacia hails dressing room “connection” in Manchester United squad
Manchester United star Tyrell Malacia has credited the “connection” players have with each other in the Red Devils’ dressing for the performances on the pitch.
The Holland international, who played a part in the Netherlands’ 4-0 defeat at the hand of France in the Euro 2024 qualifiers, signed for the Old Trafford side in the summer of 2022 from Feyenoord.
Speaking to club media via Manchester Evening News, the 23-year-old waxed lyrical about the United squad. The left-back revealed that all the players have an open dialogue behind the scenes.
“We have a good team, with good qualities, but we have to be focused and keep improving. Everything is possible.
“We give each other energy, we speak a lot with each other and, in the dressing room, we sit next to each other. We have a good connection, that’s important and you can see it on the pitch.”
Erik ten Hag was appointed in the Old Trafford side’s dugout at the end of last season. After a shaky start to the campaign, the Dutch manager has managed to steady the ship in Manchester.
We have put in some impressive displays this term. The Red Devils ended up lifting the Carabao Cup, ending the 6-year trophy drought at the club.
United also managed to beat La Liga table-toppers Barcelona in the Europa League and have made it to the quarter-finals. We are still alive in the FA Cup as well, with Brighton & Hove Albion as our next opponent in the semi-finals.
Malacia has been an important member of our squad this season. The 23-year-old has deputised admirably for Luke Shaw, who is Ten Hag’s preferred option at left-back.
The Holland international has brought a bit of bite and aggressiveness to the team. He has made 30 appearances in all competitions for the Red Devils in the current campaign.

Malacia and the rest of the Old Trafford side squad are enjoying a decent season. A happy camp is seemingly important for success. Hopefully, we will go on to lift more silverware under the former Ajax head coach in the coming years.
