Stoke City to consider permanent move for Manchester United loanee Axel Tuanzebe
Championship outfit Stoke City will consider a permanent move for Manchester United loanee Axel Tuanzebe at the end of the season, according to Manchester Evening News.
The 25-year-old joined the Potters in the previous transfer window. However, the England U21 international’s current contract with the Red Devils is set to expire next summer.
Tuanzebe is set to leave the Old Trafford side on a free transfer. A permanent move to the Staffordshire-based club is possible for the defender.
At the moment, the Bet365 Stadium side do not have the option or obligation to buy the centre-back. Therefore, if they opt to sign the English national, Alex Neil’s team will have to agree new terms with the 25-year-old.
Tuanzebe made his way through the youth ranks at United. Subsequently, the defender made his way to the Red Devils’ senior squad. However, minutes at the Old Trafford side were scarce.
As a result, the English national joined Aston Villa on loan in the 2018/19 season. The centre-back was given regular minutes at the Villa Park side, but an injury hampered his development.
Over the years, fitness issues have forced the 25-year-old on the sidelines. Therefore, he has not been able to play consistently.
Tuanzebe was unavailable for the first half of the current campaign. The English national has gotten chances at Stoke. He has started the last three games in the Championship for the Potters. Neil’s team are currently in the middle of the table in the Championship.
