Ruben Neves ‘ready to quit’ Wolves next summer amidst Manchester United interest
Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder Ruben Neves is ‘ready to quit’ Wolves next summer amidst interest from Manchester United, according to Football Insider (h/t Manchester Evening News).
The Portugal international will part ways with the Molineux Stadium side even if they avoid relegation. Erik ten Hag’s team have been linked with the 26-year-old.
Neves is looking to take the next step in his career and is keen on a new challenge at the highest level. The midfielder’s current contract with the Midlands club is set to expire in the summer of 2024.
Wolves have held talks with the Portugal international over a new deal. However, negotiations between the two parties have not progressed much.
At the moment, apart from the Old Trafford side, a number of top clubs have the 26-year-old on their radar. Premier League rivals Liverpool and Spanish giants Barcelona and Real Madrid are also monitoring his situation.
Last summer, Neves was linked with a move away from the Molineux Stadium. However, a deal failed to materialise. The Portuguese was also a potential option for United in January 2022.
Since signing for the Midlands club in the summer of 2017, the midfielder has developed into a quality player. The 26-year-old has been pivotal to Wolves’ survival in the English top-flight season after season.

However, we seemingly lack quality in depth in the engine room. Fred, Scott McTominay and Donny van de Beek have been inconsistent at the club. But it remains to be seen whether the Red Devils will be able to entice Neves to the Theatre of Dreams.
