Victor Osimhen to discuss Napoli future at the end of the season amidst Manchester United links
Napoli striker Victor Osimhen will discuss his future with the Partenopei at the end of the season amidst links to Manchester United in the upcoming transfer window.
The Red Devils are eyeing bolstering the squad with a number nine next summer. To that end, the Nigeria international is one of the forwards on the Old Trafford side’s radar.
Speaking to Sport1 via transfer guru Fabrizio Romano on Twitter, the 24-year-old is unsure about what the future holds for him. The former LOSC Lille star is determined to find a solution with the Serie A giants.
“I don’t know what the future holds. At the end of the season, I will sit down with my agents and discuss. I will also be in talks with Napoli. I am incredibly grateful to Napoli. We’ll find a good solution together.”
Osimhen signed for the Naples-based club in the summer of 2020. However, after taking a few seasons to settle in, the forward has come into his own at the Italian outfit in the current campaign.
Luciano Spalletti’s team are flying high at the moment. They are on course to win the Scudetto after more than 30 years. The Diego Armando Maradona Stadium side are also in the quarter-finals of the Champions League.
The Nigerian has been pivotal to Napoli’s success this term. He has found the back of the net 23 times and has provided five assists in 28 appearances in all competitions for the Partenopei.
Currently, Erik ten Hag only has two natural strikers at his disposal in the squad. One of them, Anthony Martial, has been on the sidelines for most of the season.
As a result, Wout Weghorst, who was signed on loan from Burnley in January, has had to be relied on in recent weeks. However, while the Holland international has been industrious, he leaves a lot to be desired in front of goal.

Therefore, we evidently need to add a prolific goal-scorer to the team. It remains to be seen whether Osimhen will end up switching to the Old Trafford side in the upcoming transfer window.
