Manchester United ‘determined’ to land Bayer Leverkusen full-back Jeremie Frimpong next summer
Manchester United are ‘determined’ to land the signature Bayer Leverkusen star Jeremie Frimpong in the upcoming transfer window, according to BILD via Sport Witness (h/t Manchester Evening News).
Erik ten Hag is set on acquiring the services of the 22-year-old. The Holland international is ‘getting better and better’. As a result, the Old Trafford side and other big teams are interested in him.
Over the years, the full-back has developed into a quality attacking threat. But with the defender’s improving form, the Bay Arena side could demand up to €60 million to part ways with him.
Frimpong made his way through the youth ranks at Manchester City before moving to Celtic. In Scotland, the youngster got regular game time.
Subsequently, the Black and Reds came calling for the Holland international in the winter window of 2021. Since then, the 22-year-old has been an established star in the Bundesliga outfit’s starting lineup.
In the current campaign, the full-back has taken his game to the next level. The defender has made 34 appearances in all competitions for the German outfit, scoring seven goals and providing nine assists.
At the moment, United have two decent right-backs to call upon. Erik ten Hag has preferred Diogo Dalot this season. The Portugal international has been impressive since the Dutch manager’s arrival.
As a result, the 23-year-old has pipped Aaron Wan-Bissaka in the pecking order. However, in recent weeks, the English national has put in some decent displays in the absence of the former FC Porto star.

However, it would not come as a surprise if the 25-year-old decided to leave the Red Devils for pastures new in the coming months. In that case, Frimpong seems like a good option to add depth to the right-hand side of our defence.
