Napoli striker Victor Osimhen ‘rated higher’ than Eintracht Frankfurt forward Randal Kolo Muani by Manchester United
Manchester United rate Napoli striker Victor Osimhen higher than Eintracht Frankfurt forward Randal Kolo Muani, according to Sky Sport reporter Florian Plettenberg on Twitter (h/t Manchester Evening News).
The two 24-year-olds have been in imperial form for their respective clubs in the current campaign. In the 2022 World Cup, the France international also shone for Didier Deschamps’ team.
At the moment, it is not certain whether the Red Devils are preparing an offer for Kolo Muani. However, the Old Trafford side do have the centre-forward on their radar. He is a possible target for Erik ten Hag’s team in the summer.
However, inside United, Osimhen is seen as the better option. The Nigeria international is the Red Devils’ main priority for the upcoming transfer window.
The 24-year-old signed for Napoli in the summer of 2020 from LOSC Lille. However, this season, the striker has taken his game to the next level.
Luciano Spaletti’s team faced Frankfurt in the round of 16 of the Champions League. Over the two legs, Osimhen made an impression, scoring three goals in total.
As for Kolo Muani, he was sent off in the first leg. As a result, the France international was unable to help the Bundesliga outfit much as they lost 5-0 on aggregate.
Currently, United have just two natural strikers at their disposal. Unfortunately, one of them, Anthony Martial, has been on the sidelines for most of the campaign. As a result, January loan signing Wout Weghorst has been heavily relied on by Ten Hag.
