Arsenal eyeing Manchester United target and Inter Milan full-back Denzel Dumfries
Premier League rivals Arsenal are eyeing the signature of Inter Milan defender Denzel Dumfries amidst interest from Manchester United, according to Football Insider (h/t Manchester Evening News).
The Red Devils have the full-back on their radar. Erik ten Hag is a big admirer of the Holland international. The Old Trafford side are keen on bolstering the right-hand side of the defence.
However, the Gunners are also looking for an out-and-out right-back. To that end, Mikel Arteta’s team have set their sights on the 26-year-old.
The Nerazzurri are open to parting ways with Dumfries. They will accept a bid between £40–50 million for the Holland international. The Serie A giants are looking to free up funds by offloading a few high earners in their team.
At the moment, Arsenal are flying high in the English top flight. The Gunners are at the top of the table in the league. Ben White has been Arteta’s preferred option at right-back this season.
However, the England international is naturally a central defender. The North London side also have Takehiro Tomiyasu in their ranks. The Japan international has fallen down the pecking order in the current campaign.
As for United, Ten Hg has preferred Diogo Dalot in the starting lineup. The Portugal international has been in fine form for the Red Devils since the arrival of the Dutch manager. As a result, the gaffer has hardly relied on Aaron Wan-Bissaka. But the English national has performed well in recent weeks.
Dumfries signed for Inter in the summer of 2021. Since then, the Holland international has been a pivotal player for Simone Inzaghi’s team.
