Manchester United considering a move for Dusan Vlahovic as Harry Kane alternative
A few days ago, it was reported that Kane is earmarked as the primary centre-forward target by United boss Erik ten Hag. The England striker’s contract in north London expires in the summer of 2024 (Transfermarkt).
The latest on that is it will be a magnanimous offer from the Red Devils if Spurs’ owner Daniel Levy is to be convinced to sell his main man.
United are wary of negotiating with Levy on that front. Hence, they are looking at alternate options. Juve striker Vlahovic is one of the options. Napoli’s Victor Osimhen is the other player on the list.
The Serbian international is having a decent season in a struggling Juventus side. He has scored 10 goals and assisted four in 26 games in all competitions.
The 23-year-old has the qualities to come good at United. He can run the channels, has the pace to beat defenders, is good in tight spaces, knows where the goal is and does not mind physical battles against centre-backs.
We know that the Red Devils need a number nine this summer. For now, the reliance on Marcus Rashford is working because he is scoring goals at a rapid rate.
But, the England international would need viable support next season onwards. Therefore, spending a chunk of money on getting a striker is a necessity. We hope that the ownership gets sorted before the transfer window so that there is clarity for the manager to pinpoint his transfer targets.
