Manchester United are eyeing up a move for Real Madrid midfielder Eduardo Camavinga
According to Nacional (h/t Manchester Evening News), Manchester United are eyeing up a move for Real Madrid midfielder Eduardo Camavinga in the coming summer window.
Madrid signed the French international for a fee of around £34.4m from Ligue 1 side Rennes in the summer of 2021. His contract with the European champions lasts until the summer of 2027 (Transfermarkt).
In the January window, Arsenal were interested in signing Camavinga but Los Blancos manager Carlo Ancelotti claims that the midfielder is untouchable.
United are planning to strengthen their squad in the coming summer. They plan to sign a right-back, a goalkeeper and a young midfielder. While they are keeping an eye on Harry Kane to bolster the centre-forward department.
Camavinga fits the ball of the young midfield slot. He is an excellent player who can operate both as a defensive and central midfielder. He has been used as a left-back quite a few times by Ancelotti as well.
The former Rennes player is just 20 years old and already has an experienced head on his shoulders. There is time and room for further improvement in his game for sure.
United could do with a midfield addition like him in the summer. They cannot rely on Casemiro to do the bulk of the job there, with sporadic help from Fred and Scott McTominay.
If Erik ten Hag’s men are to challenge for the biggest trophies next season, signing a player like Camavinga would send a message of intent to the rivals.
