Erik ten Hag has earmarked Harry Kane as the primary target for the summer window
According to Manchester Evening News, Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag has made Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane his primary striker for the summer.
Kane approaches the final year of his contract in north London and his future is uncertain amidst another underwhelming season for the club. Their future seems distorted with the manager Antonio Conte set to leave sooner rather than later.
Kane wanted to leave Spurs back in 2021 when Manchester City were interested. But, he had three years left in the contract at the time and the London side kept hold of him. It would be tougher to do that this summer though.

The report reveals that United are the only realistic club that can sign the 29-year-old as they would most probably be playing Champions League next season and have a vacancy in the striker department.
After the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo with mutual consent, it was clear that the Red Devils sign a striker to bulk up the goal-scoring department. As of now, Marcus Rashford is doing a good job of that, but he would need support going forward.
Anthony Martial is an option, but he breaks down more times than he plays. Hence, the Frenchman cannot be relied upon to produce performances consistently.

Signing Kane would elevate the team to the next level. Not only is the England superstar a great striker, but also a leader and a certified headache for defences all over Europe.
With Rashford and Bruno Fernandes around and a dynamic midfield led by Casemiro behind, Kane would have the resources to create chances for him. And we know that he will put them away more often than not.
