Wout Weghorst claims Manchester United aiming to win the quadruple
Wout Weghorst, who signed for Manchester United in January on loan, has claimed that the Red Devils are looking to win the quadruple in the current campaign.
The Old Trafford side are still alive in all four competitions. Up next, Barcelona will visit Old Trafford in the second leg of the Europa League playoff tie. The reverse fixture ended in a 2-2 draw.
Speaking to club media (h/t Manchester Evening News), the Holland international is looking forward to the game against the Blaugrana. The 30-year-old is adamant about going all the way in every competition.
“It would be a big boost [to beat Barcelona]. But like I said, we are in a good place with real momentum. We are still active in these competitions. That’s definitely something we want to keep [going] and, of course, the [Carabao Cup] final is coming, but we want to win four trophies.”
Following the match with the Spanish giants, Man United will have the chance to get their hands on silverware. Erik ten Hag has been handed the opportunity to break the Red Devils’ five-year trophy drought with the Carabao Cup final against Newcastle United.
The Magpies have been in fine form this season. Eddie Howe’s team are currently challenging for a top-four spot in the Premier League.
Then we will take on West Ham United in the fifth round of the FA Cup. The Old Trafford side last won the title in 2016 under Jose Mourinho.

Man United are also in a good position in the English top flight. At the start of the campaign, the Dutch manager’s stint at the club went off to a bad start with losses against Brighton & Hove Albion and Brentford.
However, Ten Hag has managed to steady the ship at the Old Trafford side. Currently, the Red Devils are third in the league table, five points behind league leaders Arsenal.
