Jadon Sancho asked to work one-on-one with Benni McCarthy at Manchester United
Manchester United star Jadon Sancho asked to work one-on-one with Benni McCarthy at the club at the start of the year, according to the Daily Mail (h/t Mirror).
The 22-year-old signed for the Red Devils in the summer of 2021. However, the England international has been unable to replicate the form he showed at Borussia Dortmund in Manchester.
At the start of the campaign, Sancho looked to have finally found his feet. However, the forward performances quickly fell off. Subsequently, he did not make the Three Lions’ squad for the World Cup.

The 22-year-old returned to action for the Old Trafford side against Nottingham Forest in the second leg of the Carabao Cup semi-final. He had not featured for the club since the 1-1 draw with Chelsea in the Premier League.
Since the turn of the year, the England international seems to have gained much-needed confidence. He has scored two goals in our last three Premier League matches.
The former Dortmund star has also been deployed in a more central role by Erik ten Hag as of late. He has played in the number 10 role and thrived, with Bruno Fernandes on the right.

McCarthy joined the Dutch manager’s coaching staff in the summer of 2022. The South African has past experience playing as a striker in the English top flight for the likes of Blackburn Rovers and West Ham United.
Since the 2003/04 Champions League winner’s arrival, Marcus Rashford has also been in fine form. Last season, the 25-year-old hardly had an impact at Man United. However, at the moment, the England international has turned into the Red Devils’ talisman.
