Manchester United-linked Ansu Fati hopes to stay at Barcelona for “many more years”
Barcelona star Ansu Fati hopes to stay with the Spanish giants for “many more years” amidst reports linking the forward to Manchester United.
Over the years, the Spain international has been one of the most exciting prospects in Europe. The Red Devils are interested in bringing the 20-year-old to the club in the upcoming transfer window.
However, speaking to the media via Goal (h/t Manchester Evening News), Fati revealed that he had no intention of leaving the Blaugrana. The 20-year-old feels fortunate to be a part of the La Liga outfit.
“I’m under contract with Barcelona until June 2027 and I hope to stay here for many more years. I feel grateful and lucky to play for Barca and I have to thank the people who support me daily for their backing.”
The Spaniard made his way through the famous La Masia and broke into Barcelona’s senior squad in the 2019/20 season. Subsequently, the youngster saw a massive rise in his stock at the Blaugrana.
After Lionel Messi’s departure in the summer of 2021, Fati was handed the coveted number 10 shirt. However, in recent campaigns, injuries have hampered the forward’s development.
Under Xavi, the 20-year-old has found it hard to cement his place in the starting lineup. This term, the Spaniard has featured 33 times in all competitions, scoring six goals and providing three assists. However, most of the youngster’s appearances have come off the bench.

The La Liga leaders have an abundance of talent up front. Against United in the Europa League playoff tie at Camp Nou, Robert Lewandowski and Raphinha started in the attack for them, with the La Masia graduate a substitute.
For now, the Red Devils have Marcus Rashford on the left wing. The 25-year-old has been in fine form this season. Apart from the England international, Alejandro Garnacho has also broken into the first-team setup.

Therefore, while Fati is a talented forward with a ton of potential, the left-hand side of our attack has enough quality. However, it remains to be seen whether the Old Trafford side will make a move for the 20-year-old in the coming future.
