Ian Wright urges Manchester United to sign Tottenham Hotspur forward Harry Kane
Arsenal legend Ian Wright has urged Manchester United to sign Harry Kane from Tottenham Hotspur in the upcoming transfer window.
The 29-year-old has been linked with the Red Devils for some time now. However, next summer seems like the right opportunity for the Old Trafford side to pounce on his signature.
The England international’s current contract at Spurs will expire at the end of the 2023/24 season. However, the Premier League rivals Chelsea and European giants Bayern Munich and Real Madrid are also interested in the forward.
Speaking on The Kelly and Wrighty Show (h/t Metro), Wright, who spent seven years as a striker at Arsenal, feels Kane’s arrival could take United to the next level.
“[Manchester United] are a Harry Kane away from really kicking on [next season]. You just feel Man United are not a million miles away [from winning Premier League titles].”
As of yet, the 29-year-old has not opened talks with Tottenham over an extension. The North London side are keen to keep a hold of him. However, Spurs could be forced to listen to offers if the English skipper decides to end his time with the Lilywhites.
Kane made his way through the ranks at Tottenham before establishing himself in the first team in the 2014/15 season. Since then, the forward has not looked back and has developed into one of the best players in the world.

In the current campaign, the 29-year-old has once again had to lead by example at Spurs. The England international is the only forward who has consistently found the back of the net this season for Antonio Conte’s team.
United have a similar problem up top, with Marcus Rashford having to shoulder the burden in the attack. The 25-year-old is in fine form. However, other forwards in the team have not had a big enough impact.

Kane is a player who most teams will be lucky to have in their squad. The 29-year-old’s quality and consistency in the English top flight make him an enticing buy. But will the Red Devils be able to acquire the English national’s services in the coming months? Only time will tell.
